이 제품은 디지털 비디오신호인 DVI신호와 디지털 오디오신호를 동시에 입력받아 디지털 AV신호인 HDMI포맷으로 변환해주는 기능이 내장되었다.
HDMI신호는 스트림포맷이므로 기존 DVI to HDMI젠더와 같은 구성으로는 HDMI신호에 오디오 신호를 추가할 수 없는 불편이 있었으나 본 제품을 통하여 영상과 음향이 통합된 HDMI신호를 전송할 수 있게 되어최신 홈시어터 구성이나 AV시스템 구축이 손쉬워졌다.
입력가능한 오디오신호는 TOSLINK 광오디오 신호 및 코엑시얼신호를 모두 지원하여 어떠한 오디오출력에도 대응할 수 있다.
또한 디지털복제방지규격인 HDCP에 대응하여 다양한 DVI, HDMI대응기에 호환되며 1920*1080P 해상도를 지원하여 현존하는 대부분의 영상 소스기기와 접속이 가능하다.
별도의 소프트웨어나 드라이버의 구동이 필요치 않는 스탠드얼론형 작동 방식으로 모든 PC와 AV가전기기에서 사용될 수 있다.
