The MTP DA4 and MTP DA8 Distribution Amplifiers are ideal for systems where high resolution video, audio, and control signals must be transmitted long distances to multiple displays. Each distribution amplifier splits the signal from an Extron Mini Twisted Pair (MTP) Series transmitter, enabling the creation of dynamic multi-display systems and expanding the possibilities for twisted pair based system integration. Each model is capable of transmitting high resolution computer-video, RGBHV, RGBS, RGsB, HDTV, component video, S-video, composite video and audio or RS-232 control signals (outgoing only) from a compatible MTP Series transmitter to multiple compatible MTP Series receivers.
The MTP DA4 and MTP DA8 each accept a single proprietary analog signal from an Extron MTP Series transmitter over any CAT 5, 5e, or 6 twisted pair cable or with Extron Enhanced Skew-Free A/V UTP cable, and sends a buffered proprietary analog signal to four (MTP DA4) or eight (MTP DA8) MTP Series receivers. Each model features inputs and outputs on female RJ-45 connectors.
The MTP DA4 and MTP DA8 feature video mute control via contact closure for use with a control system. For example, in a courtroom the judge can select which specific displays are receiving a video signal, or mute all displays with a single push of a button. This video muting feature eliminates the need for additional switching devices or complex control system command strings.
As part of the VersaTools family of economical, compact products, the MTP DA 4 and MTP DA8 distribution amplifiers are designed for easy integration into new and existing A/V environments. The entire family of Extron MTP products sets the price/performance standard for audio/video twisted pair technology. Extron manufactures a complete line of twisted pair products including transmitters, receivers, switchers, matrix switchers, distribution amplifiers, cable, and accessories, providing the ability to distribute high resolution video, audio, and control signals over a single UTP cable.

- RS-232 Serial Compatibility ?RS-232 signal distribution is unidirectional meaning that the RS-232 commands from the transmitter are broadcast simultaneously to all receivers. Responses from the receivers are not returned to the transmitter. RS-232 signal distribution is ideal for applications with multiple displays throughout a facility since commands can be broadcast to turn all displays on and off as required.
